Housing Insecurity

Hey ya'll - I am curious as I have hit a wall and am wondering who else have been here? Why are there very few options for us as tenants? If you were a landlord, what would you do? Please help me understand how much this impacts us all. Is it bigger than I think it is? Or are my feelings aligned with reality?

What am I going on about? My leassors provided me with a non-renewal notice at the 1st of the month, 3 months before the end of my lease. This is legal, this is totally allowed. But it feels completely unfair. I asked for a reason and they have not provided a reason other than the property owner "has other plans" for the unit I am leasing.

The unit I am leasing... the living space I have called home for my son and I for the past three years. I had zero intentions to move this Summer. But that's just life right? I was privileged to have found that unit at the time I was searching for it. Who cares that the front door and parking being a step away is one of the lovely features. Or the back porch and backyard. It's fine, I am not attached to this space. I don't feel completely comfortable and at home for the first time at age 35. It's all good.
