Time for introductions...
Rachael Ricker (she/they) is a community-minded accountant, designer, and forever student of life based in the Northeast United States. A mother, sister, friend, and thinker, Rachael brings both analytical rigor and deep care to everything they do. Queer as in bubblegum granola or somethin’, they hold a genuine love for animals—including humxnity—and are guided by values of equity, advocacy, and collective well-being. Est. 1989.
The Accountant at the Center
Accounting is Rachael’s professional foundation. With over a decade of experience as a corporate accountant, they have developed a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep respect for accurate, ethical financial work. Rachael is passionate about engaging with data beyond surface-level reporting—digging into numbers to uncover meaningful insights that support thoughtful, informed decision-making.
For Rachael, accounting is not just compliance or calculation; it is a tool for clarity, sustainability, and empowerment. They find genuine satisfaction in creating systems that help people and organizations understand their finances, make better choices, and operate with integrity.
Burnout, Re-Alignment & Purpose
After many years in traditional corporate roles, Rachael reached a turning point: burnout—the inevitable result of misalignment between values and systems. Rather than stepping away from accounting entirely, they chose to reclaim it on their own terms.
Rachael has intentionally left the salaried corporate accountant track behind and now focuses on contract accounting, volunteer work, and community-centered financial support. This shift allows them to bring their expertise to spaces where it can have the most meaningful impact—supporting small organizations, creatives, nonprofits, and community-driven initiatives that prioritize people over profit. Community Over Capitalism
Rachael is especially interested in offering accounting services within community-aligned environments—organizations and individuals who value transparency, accessibility, DEI, and ethical decision-making. They believe financial knowledge should not be gatekept, and they are motivated by work that strengthens communities, supports sustainability, and contributes to collective care.
They are well-suited for collaborative, values-based professional work and are eager to engage in opportunities where accounting can function as a form of service, advocacy, and support.
Creative Roots & Whole-Person Approach
While accounting is their primary professional anchor, Rachael’s background in design and digital art informs a holistic approach to problem-solving. Their early exposure to computers, coding, and digital tools—paired with studies at Plymouth State University (PSU), NHTI, and the University of New Hampshire (UNH)—has shaped a professional who understands both structure and creativity, logic and intuition.
This interdisciplinary perspective allows Rachael to communicate clearly, think systems-wide, and meet people where they are.

My professional work and my community intention are related, but not the same. I offer accounting skills as an individual. The community work is a values-driven practice of sharing local resources through social media—modern word-of-mouth—rooted in compassion, inclusion, and collective care.
